Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Alliance for Pediatric Therapies?
It is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade organization registered in the state of Florida that was created to provide business support to organizations and individuals providing pediatric therapies.
Who is eligible to join?
How is this achieved?
The Alliance works with the legislative and executive branches of government to achieve solutions that protect member business owners and their ability to provide quality therapy services to children.
The Members’ Only website is a valuable resource of information, tips and best practices for managing claims and reimbursements. Members are able to exchange news, views and tips for managing the business of their practices in a blog format.
How is this different from other pediatric associations?
Most therapy associations put the emphasis on providing information and support for the practitioner with regard to licensure and scope of practice. The Alliance for Pediatric Therapies focuses on the business aspect of the practice; for example, how to get reimbursed quickly and fairly from private insurance providers and Medicaid. The Alliance also uses its government affairs network to lobby for state legislation that would impact a practitioner’s ability to conduct business.
Lobbyists are hired to influence decisions made by officials in the government, most often legislators or members of regulatory agencies. There are many lobbyists acting on behalf of insurance providers to reduce the onus of paying reimbursements, it is critical that there be a representative in the practitioner’s corner looking out for their needs as well.
How much does it cost to join?
